Metro Pacific Health and ValuCare Partner to Improve Patient Care

Partnership launches rebate program under Preferred Status Agreement, with plans to expand access to essential procedures.

Metro Pacific Health (MPH), one of the country’s largest hospital networks with 31 hospitals nationwide, and ValuCare, the Philippine HMO arm of MiCare HealthTech Holdings, Inc., recently signed the Preferred Status Partnership Program Agreement to make healthcare more accessible and affordable for Filipinos.

The agreement introduces rebates at partner hospitals and establishes member‑care centers that will first cover common procedures.

MiCare serves over 17 million members across Malaysia, Thailand, and the Philippines, backed by the Zuellig Group, Mitsui & Co., and the International Finance Corporation of the World Bank Group.

Executives and representatives from MPH, ValuCare, and Calamba Medical Center — one of the signatory hospitals — formalize the Preferred Status Partnership Program Agreement on June 18, 2026. From left to right: Sandra Nicole H. Putting patients first

Through the partnership, ValuCare members gain added benefits when they undergo procedures at partner hospitals. The program aims to make the patient journey smoother, with clearer processes, faster approvals, and more predictable costs.

In practice, this means fewer financial surprises, shorter waiting times, and more timely treatment for conditions that affect millions of Filipinos.

“More common procedures will be channeled to our partner hospitals. This partnership is really about finding more ways to grow — and we see ValuCare as the right partner to do that with.”

Looking ahead

Moses Hee shares that ValuCare envisions connecting Philippine hospitals to MiCare’s cross‑border care network in Malaysia and Thailand, opening opportunities for regional medical tourism.
