December 16, 2025

ValuCare’s presence at the convention reminds everyone that healthcare is more than policies and claims. It’s about trust, care, and real experiences. Every interaction counts. Every member matters.

ValuCare took part in the 32nd Annual Convention of the Association of Health Maintenance Organizations of the Philippines, Inc. (AHMOPI). The event was held on November 28, 2025, at St. Luke’s Medical Center, Bonifacio Global City. It brought together HMO leaders to talk about how to better serve members and raise the standard of healthcare in the Philippines.

  • One of the highlights was the session “Beyond the Fees: Building Brand Value in Philippine Healthcare,” featuring Gary de Ocampo, CEO of Centre Médicale Internationale, as the resource speaker and Atty. Roselle Perez-Bariuan, ValuCare’s VP, Head of Legal and Chief Compliance Officer, as the moderator.

The discussion highlighted how trust, consistency, and experience build lasting healthcare brands.

“Being part of the conversation on brand, trust, and healthcare allows us to better serve our members and ensure every interaction adds value to their health journey,” Atty. Roselle said.

Here are the key topics that sparked discussion:

Reimagining HMO Operations

  • •  HMOs are moving towards intelligent, real-time systems for faster and more accurate services.
  • • Technology helps reduce errors, improve claims processing, and enhance member satisfaction.

Financial Reporting and IFRS 17

  • •  HMOs discussed the implementation of the International Financial Reporting Standard and its impact on financial statements.
  • •  Focus on better reporting to guide strategic decisions.

Building Brand Value in Healthcare

  • •  This session highlighted how trust drives loyalty and revenue.
  • •  Brand valuation connects trust and financial outcomes like retention and cost of acquisition.
  • •  Consistent, reliable service strengthens the HMO’s reputation and long-term success.
  • •  Strong brands could reduce price competition. They keep members coming back.

Leveraging AI While Strengthening the Human Edge

  • •  AI is a strategic enabler that supports decision-making, not a replacement for leadership
  • •  Human empathy, ethics, and judgment remain essential in healthcare
  • •  Clear strategy builds trust and helps organizations move faster
  • •  Empowered teams make smarter, more confident decisions
  • •  High-tech systems must be balanced with high-trust relationships
  • •  Holistic well-being is emerging as the next focus of care
  • For ValuCare, participation was about learning, sharing, and improving. Listening to industry leaders helps shape better member experiences. Conversations on trust and brand reinforce ValuCare’s commitment to reliable, consistent care. The insights gained continue to guide how the company connects with members every day.

ValuCare leaders who attended alongside Atty. Roselle Perez were President and CEO Dr. Elmer Palomata, COO Franz Araque, CPO Erika Denice Castillo, VP for Operations Richard Argarin, Medical Director Dr. Christian Dela Cruz, Executive Assistant and Administration Head Ria Magbanua, Accounting Manager Liza Marie Perez, ICT Officer-in-Charge Glenn Sanchez, and Corporate Communications and Marketing Head Michelle CiriaCruz.
